There was a young girl who wished to visit a hill station. Her mother promised that they would go to a hill station. Next Sunday they set out on their journey. On their way, they had to pass through narrow, winding roads. The bus driver had to be extra careful on the turns as one couldn’t see around the bend. The bus finally reached the mid-way point to its destination. It would halt there for half an hour and then proceed. The young girl, Reema, and her mother got out of the bus. While her mother ordered the food, Reema explored the place with excitement. She found a small pond nearby, with many ducks waddling about. She could hear her mother calling out to her in the distance. She quickly ran back and gobbled up her food. Then she ran back to the pond to look at the beautiful ducks. Her mother ran behind her, reminding her of the time. “Come back Reema, there’s no time left. The bus is about to leave,” she said. “Just a minute, ma. I’ll be right there,” Reema replied, without moving an inch. When her mother approached her, she found Reema still petting the ducks looking at her; Reema realized that she had made them miss the bus. She was crestfallen. “Don’t worry. We’ll take the next bus that passes by here, tomorrow. You just be happy,” said her mother with a smile.
