My grandmother used to take me to my school in the morning. One day we were walking towards the school. Suddenly a man came running to us and pushing my grandmother, ran across the road towards the slum on the other side of the road. Then came running towards us one of my friend’s mother yelling “0, my purse is stolen. Stop the thief”. I was totally confused and stood motionless for a second. By this time my grandmother could help herself she too had been shocked beyond words it all happened swiftly. In the next, few minutes crowd gathered around us and asked my friend’s mother what had happened while she explained that her purse that contained her mobile phone, cash and credit cards had been snatched by a man. I recollected quickly whatever happened a few minutes before. I brought to my mind’s eye the face of the man who had pushed my grandmother. Yes, the same man, who used to come to our house and talked to our driver. I reminded my grandmother that it was the same man who used to frequently visit an apartment and chat with our security guard and driver. My grandmother too recognized him. She told me to go to my school on my own as I was getting late and the school was nearby.

That afternoon when I came back to my home, my grandmother told me that my clue had helped the people catch hold of the thief who stayed in the nearby slum. He was a part-time pickpocket and was a small-time vendor who targeted morning walkers since the roads were desolate at that time.
