104.Short Story: The Fox and the Goat

‘Once a fox by chance fell into a well ………..she tried hard to come out but failed ……..then a goat came to the edge of the well……….. the fox invited her to drink cool and sweet water………. the foolish goat jumped in……….. the clever fox used her back and jumped out of the well ………the goat died……… Moral.

Ans:- THE FOX AND THE GOAT

Once upon a time a goat and a fox lived together. They were very fast friends. One day the fox was going to a nearby place. It was raining. Her feet slipped and she fell into the well. She was in a fix what to do now. She tried her best to come out of the well but all in vain. Then she thought she would die and nobody would come to her help. Thus she became hopeful in one moment and in the other, her heart sank within her—that she would meet a watery grave.

In the evening, her friend, the goat came there. Actually, she was searching (looking for) her. She found her. She became very happy. But when the fox told her that she was quenching her thirst with the cool and sweet water of the well, the foolish goat jumped into the well. She, too, wanted to drink water along with the Atrienci ‘She believed in the maxim (general truth) ‘that death with a friend is festival. Here it was not death but it was drinking of Sweet water. Without it thinking twice, she leapt into the well:

Now the fox who was clever and cunning used the back of the goat as a stand, jumped out of the well. She left the goat there in the well. The foolish goat met her last end with her own will. She called her death herself.

All simple people meet this cruel fate as our goat met in the story.

Moral: Selfish and clever people thrive while the selfless and foolish are doomed
