89.Short Story: A Camel and A Jackel

A camel and a jackal go across a river to a field of melon…… the jackal howls after filling his belly ………..the owner of the field’ comes ………. beats the camel ………… by his clever plan takes revenge……….. moral.

Ans:- A CAMEL AND A JACKAL

Once there was a camel. There was also a jackal there. They were good friends. They lived near a forest. A big river flowed nearby.

One day the jackal came to know of a field of ripe melons across the river. His mouth watered. But what he could do of the fast-flowing water of the river. He was afraid of it. He reached his friend, the camel. He told the camel of his plan of eating melons. The camel agreed. The jackal sat on the back of his friend the camel. The camel swam across the river. Both of them reached the field. Soon they grabbed plentiful of melons. Now the jackal filled his small belly at once. He started howling least caring for the camel to fill his stomach. His howling attracted the farmer. He came running with a lathi. He beat the camel black and blue. The clever jackal hid.

Both of them returned to the river. The Jackal, as usual, jumped on the back of the camel. The camel was in a mood to bathe and dive in the river. He actually wanted to avenge his beating. He rolled in the middle of the deep water. The jackal begged him not to let him (the jackal) drown. But the camel was determined to punish the ungrateful jackal. He said, “I roll in water after a hearty meal and good thrashing”.

The jackal clearly saw that his end was near. He realized his folly. But now it was too late. The camel rolled and rolled in the deep water. The tiny jackal was drowned in no time. His body was carried away by the strong current of water.

Moral: Tit for tat.
