56. Short Story : Terrific Experience

Your parents had gone to attend a marriage. They told you that they could be late at night. You were left alone in the house. You were studying but suddenly you heard some noise and sound of footsteps in the verandah of your house. What happened after that? Develop a story in about 150-200 words describing your experience.

Ans. TERRIFIC EXPERIENCE

Last week I had a terrific experience. That day my parents had gone out to attend a marriage. Since the place was too far and I had to attend school the next day, I told my parents that I’d stay at home and relax. Even if they came late, they could relax the next day.
With this idea, they left to lock the door from outside and taking the keys. Left alone I felt too excited. I spent the evening playing games on the computer and watching a movie about aliens. I thanked God, at last, I found the opportunity to watch the movie without disturbance. It was almost 9 o’clock when the movie ended. Then I felt guilty for not studying. So, I had my dinner and then took out my books and started studying. After some time, I felt as if I heard a sound. I listened keenly for a few minutes. And, yes, I was sure there was a sound of some footsteps in the verandah. Fear gripped me. I felt dry in my tongue. My hands froze. In no time I felt some voices and the opening of the door. I got them right! 0 my God! Yes, they were the aliens the same whom I saw in the movie. I screamed for help. My mother touched my cheeks and looked at me surprised, “Hey what’s wrong?” I opened my eyes widely. Oh, no, I had slept off with my book open. The aliens were all seen in my dreams! Actually, my parents had got into opening the door. My mother stroked my head and said, “I think you got strained to study the whole day! Close the book and go to your bed!”
