88.Short Story: The Hidden Treasure

A farmer had three sons …………all were lazy……… shirked work ……….the farmer tried his best………. wish to teach them the value of hard work……….. was on his deathbed …………told his sons that he had a hidden treasure in one of his fields and passed away ……….Moral.

Ans:- THE HIDDEN TREASURE

Once there was a farmer He had three sons. They were all lazy and idle. Their father tried his best to make them realize the value of hard work but they were never serious. The father was tired of them. But he did not leave his sincere efforts to reform them. After all, he was a father show he could desert (leave) them as hopeless. He was hopeful that one day they would start toiling (working hard).

One day his end came near. He was on his death bed. The call of the Almightily God was clearly heard in his ears. He called his sons with a heavy heart. He told them that he was dying. He had got a treasure hidden in the field. These were his last words. So saying he passed away. The sons performed his last rites. They took spades. They went to the field. They dug every inch of the field but to their great surprise, they found no treasure hidden there. They knew that their father could not mislead them. They sat down in dismay.

A wise farmer was passing that way. He heard their tale of woes. He advised them, “Don’t be discouraged. Take heart. Sow some seeds in the fields”. They acted upon his advice. They sowed seeds. In due course of time, there was a golden harvest. They reaped it. Now they had plenty of corn and bundles of notes with them. They now realized that what was the secret of the hidden treasure. From that day onwards they worked hard day in and day out. In a very short time, they grew fabulously rich. Now they were no more work-shirkers. They became industrious and diligent.

Moral: No pains, no gains.

Work is its own reward.
