In the story “A Letter to God,” Lencho is a farmer who works hard on his land. He faces a big problem when an unexpected hailstorm destroys all his crops. At first, Lencho was happy because he thought it was going to rain. Actually his crops needed rain badly. But then, the hail came and covered everything he had grown. His field looked white because of that much snow This left Lencho very worried about how he was going to support his family.

Even with this big problem, Lencho didn’t lose hope. He had strong faith in God. So, he came up with a special idea. He wrote a letter to God. In the letter, he asked God for 100 pesos. He needed this money to buy seeds and plant his farm again. He also needed the money to feed his family until they could grow and pick the new crops.

The letter makes the post office workers laugh when they see it. But Lencho’s strong faith moves them. The head of the post office and his team decide to help out. They all tried collecting money and could collect only 70 pesos, not 100 which Lencho had demanded. They sent the money to Lencho like it’s an answer from God.
