Anne Frank was born on June 12, 1929, in Germany. Her family fled to Amsterdam to escape the Nazis. When the Nazis occupied the Netherlands, they went into hiding in July 1942 in secret rooms in her father Otto Frank’s office building.
Anne hid for two years, then was caught and sent to a camp where she died. Her father, Otto, survived and published her diary, “The Diary of a Young Girl.”
