2. His main source of income is from his cornfield, which he eagerly hopes will bring a good harvest to support his family.
3. One day, as his crops are nearly ready for harvest, dark clouds gather, promising much-needed rain.
4. Initially happy about the rain, Lencho’s joy turns to despair as it quickly turns into a hailstorm, destroying all his crops.
5. With his crops gone, Lencho worries about how he will feed his family without the harvest.
6. Believing firmly in the power of God, Lencho decides to ask for divine intervention. He writes a letter to God, explaining his situation and requesting 100 pesos to replant his field and sustain his family until the next harvest.
7. Lencho goes to town and posts the letter, which only has “To God” written on the envelope.
8. The postmaster, amused to find a letter addressed to God, opens it and is touched by Lencho’s faith.
