The Midnight Visitor Summary Class 10 English
“The Midnight Visitor” is a story about Ausable, a secret agent who doesn’t look like a secret agent at all. He’s quite fat and has an American accent, which surprises Fowler, a young writer who meets him. They went to Ausable’s hotel room and expected an important report. Suddenly, Max, another secret agent, appears with a gun, wanting to steal the report.
Ausable doesn’t panic. He tricks Max into thinking there’s a balcony outside the window, which is a lie. He plans a lie and tells Max that people have entered his room through a balcony before.
Actually he was telling a lie because there was no balcony. When there’s a knock at the door, Ausable says it’s the police, coming to check on him because of the important report. Max believes him and tries to escape through the window, thinking he’ll land on the balcony. But there’s no balcony, and Max falls.
