Was Anne Frank bisexual?

Yes, Anne Frank showed signs of attraction toward girls, based on her own diary entries. In the unedited version of her diary (restored in later editions), Anne wrote openly about her feelings for a female friend named Jacque. She mentioned wanting to kiss her and feeling deeply emotional while thinking about her.
In a diary entry dated March 15, 1944, she wrote:
“Once when I was spending the night at Jacque’s, I had a strong desire to kiss her, and that desire made me cry.”
She also shared how fascinated she was with the female body and described having similar thoughts again later.
These parts were removed by her father Otto Frank before the first publication in 1947. But they were included years later in the Definitive Edition of the diary, which gives a full picture of her thoughts and identity.
This doesn’t mean she used any label for herself, but her diary clearly shows that she had same-sex feelings during her teenage years.

2. Who actually betrayed Anne Frank and her family while they were in hiding?

The identity of the betrayer is still unknown.
For decades, many theories have come up, but none have been confirmed. In 2022, a team led by a former FBI agent suggested Arnold van den Bergh, a Jewish notary, may have given up the hiding address under Nazi pressure to protect his own family. However, the Anne Frank House and several historians said the proof is weak.
So, as of now, no one knows for sure who betrayed her.

3. Why didn’t Anne Frank write her diary in German?

Anne Frank wrote her diary in Dutch because she had been living in the Netherlands since 1934. She was just four years old when her family left Germany to escape the Nazis. Dutch became her first spoken and written language as she grew up and went to school in Amsterdam.
She was more comfortable writing in Dutch than in her birth language, German.

4. Who betrayed Anne Frank and why?

As mentioned earlier, the person responsible is still not confirmed.
There have been theories, including a warehouse worker, neighbors, or even a fellow Jew under Nazi threat. One recent theory blamed Arnold van den Bergh, claiming he may have been blackmailed or trying to save his own family.
But this theory has been criticized for lacking strong proof, and many historians still believe the betrayal could have been accidental or even due to a random inspection.

5.  Where is Anne Frank’s “real” diary now? (not the facsimile)

Anne Frank’s original handwritten diary—the real one—is preserved at the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
It is stored under controlled conditions to protect it from light and temperature damage. Some parts are displayed to the public in glass cases, while others are kept safely in the archives.
Visitors to the museum can see the actual diary, not just copies.
