Good hand washing techniques include washing your hands with soap and water or using an alcohol-based sanitizer. It has been reported that washing with soap is one of the most effective ways to prevent diarrhoeal diseases. It is also the cheapest way.

3. Hand washing with soap is among the most effective and inexpensive ways to prevent diarrheal diseases and pneumonia, which together are responsible for the majority of child deaths.
