BDS is a degree in dental surgery which aims at providing treatment to the problems related to the mouth and tooth. Teeth form an important component of the mouth and help in chewing the food. BDS is a four-year degree with one year of internship. After the successful completion of the degree, the students can gain practical experience through an internship at any of the private or government dental clinics. These help them in gaining external knowledge and make them capable to handle injuries related to teeth. The candidates after the entire completion of this course along with internship can run a dental clinic and are awarded the post of a dentist. These dentists solve the problems related to gums, jaws and tooth decay.
