A king was distressed because his people were lazy. One night, in order to teach a lesson to the people, the king had a big stone placed in the middle of the road. Next day merchants, passing from there, cursed the stone and moved around it. Officers of the state, who passed from there, did the same thing. Soldiers, workmen, shoppers and shop men everyone cursed and blamed the government and took a circuitous route. It went on the whole day but no one tried to remove the stone. In the evening the king ordered the stone to be removed. Underneath the stone, an iron box was found.
The box was marked “For the man who moves away from the stone.” Inside the box was a big purse full of money. Town people, when they came to know about it, felt sorry for their laziness and ashamed of it.
