In the late hours of October 1999, a cyclone hit Orissa, killing thousands and destroying hundreds of houses. A young man named Prashant went to visit one of his friends in Ersama, a small town 18 kilometers away from his own village. By the evening, the town was hit with a devastating cyclone. Prashant and his friend’s family were marooned on the roof of their house for two dreadful nights.
