What is the short and point wise summary of ‘A Tiger in the Zoo’ Class 10?

A Tiger in the Zoo Short Summary Class 10 English

“A Tiger in the Zoo” is a poem by Leslie Norris that contrasts a tiger’s life in a cage with its natural behaviour in the forest. The poem starts by describing the tiger in a zoo, where he paces back and forth in a cage.

His stripes are bright, and his movements are silent, but he is angry and frustrated. He walks on his soft feet. The tiger is unable to explore outside the bars that keep him caged.

In contrast, the poem also depicts how the tiger would behave in the forest. He would hide in the shadows, sneak through the tall grass, and wait near a water hole for deer to pass. He might also move close to the village, snarling and showing his sharp claws and teeth. This action would terrify the villagers. The poem highlights the tiger’s natural instincts and his need to roam freely.
