Ans: – Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, a legendary figure in Indian history, was born on January 23, 1897, in Cuttack in Orissa. He got his higher education at Presidency College, Kolkata, Subhash was a brilliant student. He passed the ICS Examination but gave up the service to join the Non-Cooperation Movement in 1921.

Subhash was a great son of his country. He wanted his country to be free from British dominion. He became the President of the Bengal Congress and took an active part in the freedom struggle of India. He was deported to Burma for his activities. He was elected the President of the Indian National Congress for two consecutive years in 1938 and 1939. He belonged to the extremist faction of the freedom fighters. He organised the Indian National Army (INA) in 1943 which fought against the British. They say that he died in a plane crash in August 1945.
