A bag lost in a train — bag found by an attendant — rewarded — bag found.

Ans.                                                                    A BIG LOST

This happened to one of my friends who had gone to Delhi to take admission into a college there. He travelled by train to Delhi. Throughout his journey, he was full of tension about his admission. He was anxious if he would be getting admission in the sports quota for my friend had been a good sportsman throughout his academics and had even represented the state in cricket. He had pinned down his hopes on this privilege which would surely give him admission.
As he got down the station, he took away his baggage from the train. There was a heavy rush in the train as well as on the platform. My friend somehow managed to reach the exit and arranged for a prepaid auto. The auto driver took my friend’s luggage and started helping it inside the auto when my friend suddenly realized that he had missed a bag. Shocked, he almost went numb for that bag contained all his important certificates. He quickly paid the auto driver though he did not travel in it. Then explaining his problem to the auto driver, he took out his luggage and rushed to the platform where his train had stopped. Now there was no rush as everyone who travelled on the train had left. My friend located his compartment and searched for his bag over and under the berths. No, his bag was not to be found. It was lost. He felt as if the whole world had come down on his head. He bent his head and held it tightly. Suddenly he heard some footsteps. He looked up and found the train attendant walking ahead to his cabin. My friend rushed to him and asked him about his bag. The attendant looked deeply at my friend and said, “0 yes! Is it yours? Just now I handed it over to the station master. You may go and collect it. Come, I’ll get it for you!” My friend went to the station master accompanied by the attendant, identified his bag and took it with him. When the attendant was about to leave, my friend called him and pressed into his hand a 500 rupee note for his certificates were invaluable. The attendant smiled and said, “No, thank sir! I did my duty!” and left.
