Digital India is an ambitious campaign to ensure that government services are available to all the citizens electronically. It was launched by the Government of India on 1st of July, 2015 at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, Delhi. With a vision to bringing digital revolution to mass people of India from cities to villages improving online infrastructure and by increasing Internet connectivity to digitize India using every branch of technology.
Some of the facilities which have been provided through this program are Digital Locker, e-education, e-health, e-sign, national scholarship portal, digital India app . Digital technology in India has reduced paper work, saved man power and time as well as given a high boost to digital marketing and created a lot of job opportunities. The importance of digital India is beyond explanation. This project has taken a speed by tying the knot between government and private sectors. Huge number of villages interconnected with high speed network has really undergone a huge change from backward regions to complete digitally equipped areas. All the cities, towns and villages in India are more tech savvy. This project has been planned to be completed by 2019 with the investment of leading companies. IT will really change the complete face of India. Impacts of ‘Make in India’ & ‘Digital India’ in India will be felt in 2017-18:
Qu.1. Do you think that this program is going to be a grand success?
Ans. I do think that this is going to be a thunder success because of numerous efforts like digital India platform, make in India app download facility and immense positivity of it. Other attractions like digital India awards are also contributing to the thunder success of it.
Qu.2. Do you think that In a country where a majority of people does not have access to even electricity, digitization is going to help people?
Ans. My dear every journey is initiated with the first step. This could be assumed as a wise and nice step towards a big change in the present generation . I think that this is going to start a movement towards speeding up our work, connecting easily with the government increasing job opportunities for B. Tech. holders and many more ways.
Qu.3. How is digitalisation helping us?
Ans.- 1. Digitalisation has started to show its positive impacts as things are really done very easily. A few days back I was taking an online appointment for someone in AIIMS and I had to fill only AADHAR number of the patient and all the other details like age DOB, address and many more were extracted itself. IT saved my time and energy.
2. It is helping in decreasing documentation for a number of works which is saving a lot of paper and trees and ultimately our environment. .
Qu.4. What are the services given under this scheme?
Ans. Some of the services which will be provided under this effort are Digital Locker, e-education, e-health, e-sign and nationwide scholarship portal.
Qu.5. What is the need of a digitalised India?
Ans. Digitally empowered society is really a powerful society. If we need to be advanced we have to to digitalise ourselves. It is a techno -based transformation of our country which is very much needed to make an immensely positive impact on the Ministry of Communication and IT which will create a lot of job opportunities and many more other beneficial things.
