The boat capsized but I managed to survive. I walked on and on till I could walk no more. I was completely exhausted. I collapsed on the short, soft grass and fell into a deep sleep. It was daylight now. I woke up. I tried to get up but couldn’t stand. I found my arms and legs tied down to the ground with strings. I found myself in a hopeless and helpless situation.
I could hear the noises around me. They were faint human voices. Then I felt something moving on my body. It came near my face. He was a tiny little man of 3 inches. He was dressed like a soldier. Forty more followed him. I was amazed to see such tiny men. I couldn’t understand what they wanted to do with me. Then I felt as if a thousand needles were pricking my body. The little men were shooting arrows at me. Then I lay still without moving. One of the elders, perhaps their leader, stood on a raised platform near me. I indicated for food and water. He seemed to understand me. He sent hundreds of men up to my face. I had my dinner. After the generous dinner, I went to sleep again. This was my first day among Lilliputians.
