Sir,
Our neighbouring school Vidya Gyan Mandir wishes to play a friendly Hockey match on our play-ground next Saturday in the evening at 4 sharp. Their games secretary has approached us. They have also given us their undertaking that they will play a fair game without causing any fuss or disturbance. Last time they picked up a quarrel when we went to play a match on their playground. They feel extremely repentant and are ashamed of their conduct. This time they will not repeat their misbehaviour. They want to normalise their strained relations with us. And it becomes very essential that we must forget and forgive them. After all, they are our immediate neighbours. It will be greatly graceful on our part to kill the wrongdoers with kindly grace. Let us do them friendly favour.
I, as games secretary of the school, seek your permission to play this friendly Hockey match at our venue. The necessary expenses incurred on refreshment will be met by the visiting team. This they are doing as a token of their love and new-born friendship. Though I have told them that it becomes the duty of the host school to throw a party to them. But they have not agreed to this suggestion.
Kindly accord the required permission and oblige.
