PASSAGE-20

Read the following passage and answer the following questions which are given below:-
India is a country of vast geographical expense. India is marked by a diversity of physical features such as mountains, plateaus, plains, coasts and islands. In the north, it is bound by the lofty Himalayas. The northern plains, Great Indian Desert, the peninsular plateau and the great Himalayas are the main physical divisions of India. There are seven countries that share land boundaries with India, These countries are- China, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Myanmar and Afghanistan. The country is divided into 29 states and 7 Union territories. Telangana became the 29th state of India on 2 June 2014. Rajasthan is the largest and Goa is the smallest state in terms of area. There are a number of east flowing rivers Mahanadi, Kaveri, Godavari, Krishna which drain into Bay of Bengal. Narmada and Tapi are the only two rivers which drain in Arabian Sea. These rivers have formed fertile deltas. The sunderban delta is formed where the Ganga and Bhramaputra flow into Bay of Bengal. Sunderban Delta is the largest delta in the world. Two groups of Islands also form part of India. Lakshadweep Islands are located in Arabian Sea and Andaman-Nicobar Islands in the Bay of Bengal.

Read the following paragraph carefully and find out the answers of the given question:
A good transport system is very essential in the worlds today. The word transport means carrying of people and goods from place to place. Millions of people travel from place to place everyday all over the world. They travel from town to town, and country, ground and even into space. People travels for service, business, sight seeing and to meet other people. A good transport system is very important for the progress of agriculture, mining and industry. All means of transport have made travel easy comfortable and fast. It is very important during the war, floods or famine.

A) What is very essential in the world today?
B) Where do people travel all over the world?
C) Why do people travel for?
D) Why is a good transport system so important?
E) What is meant by the word ‘transport’?
