He took an egg from a 200-year-old tortoise belonging to the King of Tonga. He took the tail of a 51-year-old horse. He also took whiskers from a 36-year-old cat named Crumpets. He even took an old flea that had lived on Crumpets.
Mr Wonka mixed everything in his Inventing Room. He boiled, bubbled, and tested the mixture. In the end, he got a tiny cup of oily black liquid. He gave four drops to a twenty-year-old Oompa-Loompa.

1. Mr Wonka’s First Mistake :Mr Willy Wonka first invented a medicine called Wonka-Vite. It made people younger. But it worked too strongly. Some people became too young and even went into minus age. One person became minus eighty-seven years old. It meant he had to wait eighty-seven years to come back. Mr Wonka saw that he had made a mistake. He decided to invent a new medicine that would make people older, not younger.
2. A New Idea to Make People Older :Mr Wonka started thinking deeply. He wanted to find a way to create age. He asked himself what is the oldest living thing in the world. Charlie answered that it must be a tree. Mr Wonka said Charlie was correct. But it was not just any tree. It was a very special one.
3. The Oldest Tree in the World :Mr Wonka explained that the oldest tree is called the Bristlecone Pine. It grows on Wheeler Peak in Nevada, U.S.A.
