His hunger for freedom grew with each passing day and he started his movement against unfair oppression and persecution due to his skin color. He never wavered in his belief that everyone should have the right to be treated equally regardless of their race, religion or gender.
He devoted himself entirely to achieving justice and equality for all South Africans and served over 27 years in prison before he was released to lead them into a new era of freedom.
