Dear Mother
You’ll be happy to learn that I have been given a separate room in the hostel. I no longer feel lonely and homesick as I used to feel earlier. In fact, I have made a few friends at school. Their delightful company leaves no time for me to feel ill-at-ease.
Suman is my favourite. She is a day scholar. She is quite intelligent, witty and lively. She has a good sense of humour. She often takes me home. Her mother is quite affectionate. She occasionally serves me home-made delicacies.
My other friend, Sudha, resides in my hostel. She is crazy about Hindi films and fashions. She wants to be a model. She often gives me good tips about physical fitness and make-up. I like her company. I also find a good friend in Puja. Puja is really a smiling girl. She is always in high spirits.
I hope you will like my friends. I’ll bring them home during the winter break.
Convey my regards to Dad and Didi.
