Dear Father
I have got all the papers of my first house test which was held last month. I am sorry to inform you that I have not been able to do well in Maths and Science. I have scored 65% in Maths and 50% in Science. I am well aware of the high expectations you have from me. I think I have disappointed you.
But, Father, I am not entirely to blame for this poor performance. Our Maths teacher is in the habit of setting questions from books which are meant for higher classes. He seems to be goading us indirectly for tuition. He also does not take up our difficulties in the class. I and my fiends are in a fix. We do not know if we should meet the Principal and complain against our teacher. So far as Science is concerned, I think I should devote more time to Physics and Biology portions which are difficult to grasp. I have already started studying these portions with much more concentration and interest. I am sure I will do better in Science in the next house test. I have no complaint against my science teacher.
Please advise me as what we should do about our Maths teacher. Should we meet him first and discuss with him our problems ? I feel this is the best option with us. I would like to have your guidance in this matter. In English, Social Studies, Geography and Hindi, I scored 80%, 89%, 82% and 75% marks respectively. In Computer Science, I have got a hundred per cent. I assure you I will fare much better next time.
