Ans:- WASTE OF MONEY AND MANPOWER DUE TO FREQUENT ELECTIONS
For the past decade, there has been hardly any government at the state or national level that could complete its full term of five years. People have become so disillusioned with our politicians that no party at the national or regional level is able to win an absolute majority in the elections. So after the elections, alliances are made between different parties to form a majority and to gain the right to rule. But these alliances don’t last long. Their differences soon begin to crop up and the alliance falls apart. The opposition parties ever remain on the lookout to topple such a government. Thus a situation is created when the only way left is mid-term elections. These things have come to happen so frequently in our country that people no longer take any interest in exercising their franchise seriously. Crores of rupees and a lot of manpower are wasted on them. A poor country like India can ill-afford such wasteful expenditure. So there is an urgent need that some amendments in our constitution must be made to save the country from the bane of frequent elections and to provide a stable government A government once elected must be ensured to complete its term of five years.
