My dear Sanjay,

I have received your letter and have noted the contents. I am very sorry to learn that you are subsisting (living on) on a very meagre salary (small pay). Most of us, too, are leading a poor man’s life. We are living from hand to mouth. It is very difficult to make both ends’ meet with grace and dignity these days. Most of the time we depend on hand loans and borrowed money. The situation is becoming extremely critical. What a pity! These days when things are getting scanty and the prices are skyrocketing, then a middle-class-family finds it impossible to survive on petty pay packets.

You are highly educated. Why do you not use your education (talent) to some profitable purpose? It will definitely supplement (increase) your income. Have a few tutorial groups in the subjects of Mathematics and Science. After all, you are an M.S,e. You have full command over science subjects up to senior secondary level. Join some good coaching college and give tuitions there. You will get good payment. It will certainly ease out your day-to-day needs.

I myself have started giving tuitions at Central Academy. They are paying me one thousand c rupees; for two hours for five days a week. Again I earn a few more chips by having individual tuitions. It is an easy and – honourable job.

Please convey to me with your decision.

Yours sincerely,

Rakesh
