My dear Mother,
I have received your loving letter just now. I have read it again and again. It is a letter from my dearest Mummy. You have asked me when I am coming home.
Dear Mummy, I am counting days and hours when I will be face to face with my dear Papa and Mummy. I am extremely sad for both of you. But it does not mean that I do not devote my time to my studies. I am awfully busy doing my papers. Most of the papers are over. I have fared them very nicely. I expect very good marks for them. In English and Mathematics papers I will be scoring distinction marks. i.e., above 75%. Rests of the papers are satisfactorily done. You need not worry on that account. Tomorrow is my last paper. It is a paper in Arts and Craft. It is very easy. It is like a child’s play for me. Then I am altogether free from the drudgery of examination. After it, I am as independent as a bird.
I wish that I would have wings. Then I could fly and reach you immediately. My body is here. But my heart always remains with my dearest Mummy. Most of my class-fellows have chalked out a programme of an outing. They have decided to go to Simla to enjoy ‘Snowfall’ there. The time is quite appropriate. They will relax and enjoy there. They will ward off the boredom of examination. They are compelling me again and again to accompany them. But I have refused them point-blank. I understand that such adventurous outings are not arranged every day and again in such a youthful company.
But my foremost concern is to reach you. I shall reach Delhi by Dehra Doon Express on Monday in the morning. Please send my friend Rana to receive me at the Station.
