My Dear Bansi
I have received your letter recently. You have invited me to visit your place, Mussoorie during the present vacation.
Dear Bansi, it is a matter of great pleasure to visit the Queen of Hills. The plains are as hot as an oven. It is sultry hot here. One passes the months of May and June in great uneasiness. The summertime is the worst time here in Delhi. Would that I have availed of this golden opportunity, but I am awfully busy in my preparation of N.D.A. (National Defence Acad-tiny) examination. It is to take place in the third week of June. The time at my disposal is very short. The courses of the said examinations are quite unfamiliar. They are long, puzzling and very difficult. Thousands of candidates appear every year but a few lucky get through it. I am determined to clear it in the first attempt.
I have joined S.N. Das Tutorial College, Karol Bagh. It is the best college imparting top- class coaching for N.D.A. Here the teachers are highly learned. They are the masters of their subjects. They have trained thousands of candidates.
I have filled up the form. I have deposited the necessary fees. My candidature has been approved and Roll No. is allotted to me. Now I am in the thick of the studies. I have jumped into the fray. There is no looking back. I am bent upon to outshine in it.
I beg to be excused for declining your call of the mountains.
