My dear Father,

I deeply regret my foolishness and request you with folded hands that please forgive me. I know that my bad habits have given you great mental anguish. You have been very much upset. It has pained you deeply that I, Raj, the apple of your eye, has fallen into a bad company.

Dear father, I very candidly confess my guilt and count my blunders before you. You are a great father, you are very large-hearted. You will apologize me with no rancour in your heart. I sincerely crave for your forgiveness. Please believe me and my tears; am sincere in my determination. I have shunned the bad company of loafers and knaves once for all. I shall devote my full time to my studies. I shall pass the examination with flying colours. I shall be an altogether changed man. People will congratulate you on the proud performance of your son.

Can I not be a good boy? What pleasure do I derive in vexing my parents by acts or omissions? It is my silliness that I have been breeding bad habit. So far I was ignorant and self-complacent. I little know the power of good and salutary habits. They make us bright and shining. Bad habits bring a bad name. They let you down in every company. People start hating you.

Now I am not that old Raj. I am a changed boy. I have embarked a path of nobility and gentleness, which behoves all good boys.

Please forgive me.

Your loving son,

Raj
