My dear Wilson,

You live in the U.K. You are very anxious to know about us. You are interested to learn what is going on in our country.

My dear, I am giving you a brief synopsis of some recent happenings that have taken place in India. You know our country is a multi-lingual country. Here live the Hindus?, Jains, Sikhs, Muslims, Parsecs and Chris-tians side by side. They often quarrel in the name of religion, caste, colour and creed. They are simple people. They get flared up quite easily. Then again they start loving very soon, forgetting all bitterness.

Recently, there was carnage in Bhagalpur in Bihar. It was committed in the name of communalism. The Hindus fought a deadly fight against their Muslim brethren. There was a naked dance of animality. There was a lot of blood-shed.

The beautiful valley of Kashmir—a virtual paradise on earth is burning. There is terrorism in the whole valley. The hired hoodlums, across the border, are doing great damage to the entire valley. I they have disrupted the normal lives of the Kashmiris. They have created a hell in this peaceful heaven. It is a matter of great shame for all of us. The Centre has taken very stringent measures to contain this madness, fury and terrorism.

Again, Punjab is in a deplorable state of affairs. Here guntnatting terrorists move day and night, making the life of the common man extremely miserable. In short, the whole of the country is in the grip of excessive turmoil and trouble.

Rest in my next letter.

Yours sincerely,

Rahim
