Sir/Madam,
I am a student of Class X-A of your school I have been studying in the school from class I. I have always stood ‘First’ in all my classes and in all the examinations. Now my father has retired from service and my mother is a housewife. His pecuniary condition is in such bad shape that he is unable to pay my tuition fees any longer. As a result, I have no other alternative but to discontinue my studies.
Under these circumstances, I request you to kindly grant me a scholarship so as to enable me to continue with my studies.
As regards my character and manners, you may enquire from my teachers. I also have a number of literary prizes to my credit. I have represented our school team twice in the Basketball Boys Tournament at the state level.
If I am granted the said concession, I promise to spare no pains to study more diligently and perform better to the satisfaction of the school authority.
