My dear Father,
Our Board Examinations are over finally. You will be pleased to know that I have done all my papers well and hope to get a distinction. You have desired to know how I plan to pass my summer vacations. Well, I have decided to take part in a very important and socially useful project. Our school is organising a three-week-long National Service Camp during the summer vacation. If you permit me, I intend to join it. This will provide me with an opportunity to see the common people from close quarters. Our villagers are the most neglected lot though state statistics boast of ambitious plans and projects of rural development. During the three-week stay, we shall take up the projects of adult literacy, health and hygiene, awareness of diseases and need of cleanliness.
We propose to follow up on our work by weekend camps and get-togethers. I hope you will approve of our plan and bless us.
