NCERT Full-Form refers to National Council of Educational Research and Training. NCERT refers to an autonomous, governmental organization founded under the Societies registration Act 1860.
It was founded on September 1, 1961, in the form of a scientific, charitable and literary society. It has its headquarters located at the Sri Aurobindo Marg in the capital city of India, New Delhi. The Ministry of Education, Government of India founded the NCERT on July 27, 1961, which officially became operational on September 1, 1961.
The Council was created by the amalgamation of seven extant national government institutions, namely: the Central Bureau of Textbook research, the Directorate of Extension Programmes for Secondary Education, the Central Institute of Education, the Central Bureau of Educational and Vocational Guidance, the National Institute of Basic Education, the National Institute of Audio-Visual Education, and the National Fundamental Education Centre. The NCERT should not be confined with the National Council for Indian Education.
The objectives of the Council involve the incorporation of the National Curriculum Education, Vocational Education, Education of girls, Improvement of thought-processes of students, provision of competitive value education, reformation of IT education, reformation of teaching methods, and the Universalization of elementary education.
