The visible pattern present on the face of the tube can represent the data stored in it cryptically. An evacuated envelope made of glass is used by a CRT. This envelope is fragile, heavy, deep and large. A thick crystal is used for making the face for safety purposes. This leads to disposing problems and is, therefore, a hazard to the environment.
