Cisco Systems offer a technical Certification in the name of Cisco Certified Network Associate. This is a second (associate) level certification that validates the capability of the candidates and tests their abilities in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting medium-size routed and switched networks including implementation and verification of connections to remote sites in a WAN.

The pattern of CCNA examination

The exam consists of router/switch simulator questions, multiple-choice questions with a single response as well as multiple responses, drag and drop questions, and fill in the blanks. The exam will be valid for 3 years. The duration of the examination is 90minutes.

The following are the path details of the CCNA certification –

Option 1 â€“ The candidate needs to clear the following exam

CCNA 640-801 – Introduction to Cisco Networking technologies and Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices.

Option 2 – The candidate needs to clear the following two exams. The above-mentioned exam is divided into two sub-parts in this section

640-821 – INTRO Beta: Introduction to Cisco Networking Technologies (INTRO)
640-811 – ICND: Interconnecting Cisco Network Devices

The candidate is free to choose one out of the given two options.

Passing scores for the above-mentioned examinations are set by statistical analysis and are subject to change. After the completion of the exam, the candidates receive a scorecard that contains their score as well as the passing score for that particular exam. The questions and the passing score are subject to change every time the exam is conducted, therefore Cisco doesn’t publish its passing scores.
