IRDP Full Form stands for Integrated Rural Development Program

IRDP is a development program launched by the Indian Government in 1978. By the year 1980, it spread all over India. Its main focus is to increase the capacity of generating income of the targeted poor groups of people. This program targeted marginal farmers, rural artisans, agricultural labourers and small farmers that are surviving below the PL (poverty line). The total expenditure of the program that occurred during the seventh 5-year plan was thirty-three billion rupees. The number of families that participated in it was thirteen million. These programs have immensely helped in increasing the production in the agricultural sector by proving the farmer’s financial help, education and other assets for increasing yields in their fields.
