PUC — Pre University Course

PUC Full-Form refers to Pre-University Course. PUC is an intermediate course for the period of two years that is organized by state education boards or institutions in India. It stands for Pre-degree course or the Plus-two or the Intermediate course. The Indian System of Education observes the 10+2+3 pattern and thus, a typical Bachelor’s degree mandates a minimum of 10 years schooling, along with two years of PUC. Colleges that offer PUC courses are called Junior Colleges or PU Colleges. For instance, Karnataka organizes the examination at the culmination of the second year of a PUC for the purposes of university admissions. This comprises three programs with the option to focus on commerce, science, and arts. Students who desire to pursue professional programs in the state of Karnataka must qualify the science stream program of this examination as well as qualify the Common Entrance Test conducted by the government of Karnataka.
