This binary stored-program computer was on the first computers ever made in the world. EDVAC started the functioning of the computers in the 
year 1949 in Ballistics Research Laboratory. The computer had a capacity of 1,000 44-bit words, later which was made to 1024. The EDVAC was primarily created for the US army’s research laboratory. The machine which was one of the best in the then times cost the US government around $500,000 although the initial budget was taken to be $100,000.
