Religion and An Atheist: Humanity
A twelve-year-old South Indian girl recently died after she fasted for 68 days. Her death was immortalized merely as a futile attempt to please the Almighty. Different time, different place, ISIS beheaded a woman who supposedly broke religious customs. Yet another place, Muslim and Hindu riots led to the death of two. To such a degree has a religion-fueled conflict, complicated politics, retarded social developments and impaired human relations across the world, that one is often tempted to propose that Religion is innately an enemy of humanity, if not indeed of itself a crime against humanity.
The essence of humanism is a sense that humanity as a whole is more important than any of its subgroup. But most of those believers who think there is god dedicated to the protection of the group they belong to can never be true humanists. The atheists who have no invisible mean of support, consider humanity as their sole religion. An atheist believes that a hospital should be bad instead of a church. An atheist believes that a deed must be done instead of a prayer said. They strive for involvement in life and not escape into death. He wants diseases conquered, poverty vanished and was eliminated. But this is not true for the fanatic atheists in the society who are against the concept of religion to such an extent that they seem to forget about secularism, brotherhood and other’s freedom- which should be ideals of not only every atheist but every human.
But we need to sympathize with those who have no religion, in a sense, that whosoever provides them with food, is an incarnation of God, whoever provides them with shelter is much more than only God for them. Let us leave this essay on a lighter note and have a heartily laugh. If you are a believer: laugh at those who live their lives in complete darkness, adrift in oblivion, far away from the worldly reality. For all the atheists out there: my friends, live your life as you want because you have nothing to fear; laugh at you odds and live your life so well that death will tremble to take you. In the end, let us all unite as a race and smile and smile and smile.
