Subject Public Protests

 Sir,

Through the columns of your esteemed daily, I wish to draw the attention of your readers to the banners, which urges the public to voice their protest over matters in a rowdy procession. While such means may look attractive in a comic serial, these are unbecoming for responsible citizens.

social protest silhouettes composition 98292 2863In my opinion, the more effective method of voicing one’s protest is through face to face discussions between the authorities and a representative body of citizens or the .concerned party. Another way is to write to the press and make one’s views heard in the proper quarters. Even a press conference can be called apprising newsmen of the situation. As a last measure, one can turn to the courts for redressal of grievances.

It is, however, downright hooliganism to try and get one’s way by taking to the streets. Such methods disrupt civic life and enable unsocial elements to gain control and jeopardize safety and security. Please publish these views in your daily and oblige.

Yours sincerely

Subject: Pressure on Students in Competitive Environment

 Sir,

Through the column of your esteemed daily, I would like to draw the kindyoung woman feels tired falling her desk girl feels exhausted study 10045 431 attention of the concerned authorities and common masses towards Pressure on Students in Competitive Environment. The world today is full of fierce competition. The competition begins from the cradle and ends in the grave. Obviously, students are made to work extremely hard to stand equal to the competition, the environment offers them.

The hectic work/study schedule accompanied by a tense state of mind results in a stressed life where there is no place for relaxation or recreation. Outdoor sporting activities and hobbies are hopelessly sacrificed. The pressure of being in a competitive race causes a lot of stress on young minds. This stress is often manifested in anger, irritation and sometimes even violent behaviour on the part of the students.

It is high time that some ways and means must be adopted to lessen the level of stress encountered by them. They should indulge in games, sports, yoga, etc to combat stress. Educationists and policymakers must bring out a pro-child policy. This will surely calm their nerves and refresh them better to cope with the usual inevitable pressure.

Yours sincerely

Subject: Unclean and Stale Water in Water Park

Sir,

Through the medium of this letter, I wish to express my concern over the polluted water in the ‘Waves Water Park’ in our city.

I visited this Water Park as a part of my school excursion recently and it was disgusting to see that the water was not clean and also emitted a stale5facbd8a122c2 smell. Moreover, polluted water can cause various water-borne diseases. However, the management does not seem to be carrying out routine water maintenance. They need to be issued immediate notice by the concerned authorities to use a combination of a filtration plant along with chemical treatment programme of water. Furthermore, it is important to take instant action as contaminated water will cause bacteria, algae, viruses and insect larvae to grow in water and result in water-borne diseases.

I hope you will publish my letter in the columns of your esteemed newspaper so that the concerned authorities can look into this matter urgently.

 Yours sincerely

Subject Rising Number of Road Accidents

 Sir,

Through the column of your esteemed daily, I would like to draw the kind accident scene with car crash city 1308 37541attention of the concerned authorities and common masses towards the Rising Number of Road Accidents. Road safety in our country is in a pitiable state. The number of road accidents is increasing by the day. As a result, a number of unnatural deaths take place almost every day and several become physically handicapped or permanently disabled.

Most of the accidents happen due to reckless driving. People in their hurry don’t care to follow the traffic signals. The pedestrians tend to cross the roads from anywhere they want and are in turn hit by the speeding vehicles. The truck drivers, generally drunk, the young rash scooterists—all add to the number of road accidents.

A few strict steps like imposing heavy fines and forfeiting the licence of the offenders could stop the people from going wild on the road. Authorities need to be more stringent in issuing driving licence. Constant checking and vigil are required.

I hope the concerned authorities and the general public will see the gravity of the matter and adopt some measures.

Yours sincerely

Riddhima

This is mainly because they realize that the adults around them are not doing anything to prevent it. Child abuse is a problem that affects everyone. So, everyone needs to take a stand against it. We see a lot of these stories on TV, hear them on the radio, or read about them in the paper and we express a moment of disgust. But how many of us give it a second thought?

Child abuse endangers the health and welfare of children. It leaves deep scars on a child’s body and mind. We should not let any more of our children suffer because of our silence. Moreover, the parents, as well as the teachers, should keep a regular check and educate the children about physical abuse.

Subject Tobacco Consumption

Sir,

Through the column of your esteemed daily, I would like to draw the kind attention of the concerned authorities and common masses towards Tobacco Consumption. It is a matter of grave concern to see that despite the different bans and the usual law against smoking in a public place, consumption of tobacco in different forms is on a steady rise.

5facc07b7dc89

Smoking not only leads to tobacco-related diseases like lung ailments, cancer, heart diseases but has even proved fatal in many cases. Besides, it is a menace for passive smokers.

The government should, therefore, do something as drastic as ordering the closure of tobacco industry itself. There is a need to create awareness among the people about the ultimate effects of smoking and highlight the need to stop it. Stricter steps to discourage smoking in public need to be taken. Educational and awareness programmes should be organised to keep people abreast of damaging side of smoking. Even media can help to advocate the cause.

 Sir

The use of illicit liquor among people has assumed alarming proportions. Almost daily there are newspaper reports related to hooch tragedies in one5facc0f7366ec part of the country or the other. The evil of illicit liquor is particularly common among poor and labour classes. Since it is much cheaper and far stronger people are easily tempted to have it. Most of the consumers are illiterate and don’t realize the damage such liquor can do to their life or body. The unscrupulous suppliers of this poison don’t care a fig for human lives. Their only motive is to make money even if it means the death of any number of people. The government must come down heavily on these traders of death and give them exemplary punishments. An intensive campaign should also be started to make people aware of the dangers of consuming illicit liquor.

Sir

Parents are a harried lot at the time of school admissions every year. In5facc25a98dd8 their desire to have their children educated in good schools, they get fleeced and exploited mercilessly. These so-called good schools are in fact palatial shops that sell education for the highest bidders. First of all, they price their admission forms at more than a hundred rupees each which costs them hardly more than a few paise. Then the admission seekers are taxed with capitation fees in the name of donations and building funds. They are in thousands per head. The regular monthly fees are also unimaginably high. The rich few can, no doubt, afford all this. But for the average salaried class, they are a terrible drain on their pay-packet. Thus the imparting of education to their young ones has become a tortuous problem for the poor parents. It is the duty of the government to come to the rescue of these exploited people. Forcing capitation fee in the name of donation and building fund is a corrupt practice which should immediately be stopped.

Yours truly

Sir

Good schools were once thought to be temples of learning but nowadays these so-called ‘good’ schools have become nothing more than educational shops whose only aim is to mint money by fair means or foul. They charge unimaginably high fees and admit as many as 60-70 students in one section of a class.

people sitting chairs top view 281368 69It is practically impossible for a teacher to control so many kids in a class and give individual attention to them. The children are herded together like sheep in an enclosure, while the low-paid helpless teacher continues shouting above their heads. The only aim of such schools is to collect as much money as they can by putting as many students as they can in one class. They are selling education without paying any sales tax. They are earning lacs and crores without paying any income tax. They are raising huge properties without paying any wealth or property tax. Admitting a large number of students in one class with the sole purpose of making money is a corrupt practice that needs to be stopped immediately. No school should be allowed to admit more than 20-25 students in a class at the lower levels at least, where each child needs to be attended individually.

Yours truly
