Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru is my favourite leader. He was our first Prime Minister. He was born at Allahabad on November 14, 1889. The name of his father was Pt. Moti Lal Nehru. Shrimati Swarup Rani was his mother. At first, he was taught at home. Then he went to England for higher studies. He became a barrister. He came to India. He met Mahatma Gandhi. This changed his life. He gave up his practice. He joined the fight for freedom. At last India became free in 1947. Pt. Jawahar Lai Nehru became our first Prime Minister. He served the country with his hard work. He made five-year plans. He established dams and set up factories. India made great progress under him. He was a popular leader. People loved him deeply. Children called him ‘Chacha Nehru’. Ile died in 1964. He was a great son of India.

Mahatma Gandhi was a great son of India. He was a great leader. He was born on 2nd October 1869. His mother was a gentle lady. His father was the Diwan of a state. He passed his matriculation examination. He went to England for higher studies. He passed the law. He became a barrister. Then he came back to India. Mahatma Gandhi went to South Africa. He worked for the good of the Indians living there. Then he came back to India. He fought for our freedom. He went to jail many times. He got India freed. India became free in 1947. People called him Bapu with love. He loved truth. He worked for the poor people and the Harijans. He was assassinated on 30th January 1948. Mahatma Gandhi was a great Indian. We can never forget him.
