What is IAS full form?

IAS full form is Indian Administrative Service. It is the most Prestigious Service. It is a dream of so many students to become an IAS or IPS. Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Indian Foreign Service (IFS), All India civil services exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).  It is considered as India’s most difficult recruitment exam. Many of the students have a dream to become an IAS, IPS, and IFS. The civil service exam is held every year conducted by UPSC. Selection Process has three stages Prelims exam, mains exam, and Interview.

Selected members of these services serve the government of India as well as the individual states. IAS officers may also be deployed to various public sector undertaking. During probationary period IAS officer serves as the head official of district subdivision, as an administrative officer that is below district level. Once completed the probation works as an executive administrative role in a district as a district magistrate and collector after sixteen-year officer may be promoted to be a divisional commissioner. IAS officer may present the country at the international level. If serving on deputation they may be employed in the international organization such as the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the Asian Development Bank, or the United Nation and its agencies.

IAS Education Qualification:-

Candidate must have a graduation degree of any stream from the recognized university of India. There are no minimum marks or percentage requirement for the exam also there is no requirement of any subject or specific language. Every graduate student is eligible for the civil service exam.

IAS Syllabus

UPSC Exam is divided into three Stages

  1. Preliminary Examination (Objective)
  2. Mains Examination (Subjective)
  3. Personality Test (Verbal)

IAS officer responsibilities are:-

  • To maintain law and order.
  • To implement union and state government policies.
  • To handle administration and daily proceedings of the government under specific ministry or department.
  • To act as an intermediary between government the public and the government.
  • Policy formulation and to make the final decision in certain matters with minister concerned or council of ministers when posted to a higher level.
