The other day I was walking along with my friends when we saw emanating from the neighbourhood. Shocked to see the smoke, we all rushed towards the place. On our way we found people running a shelter and skelter and the fire brigade zooming away. We reached the place and found a building and nearby shops burning. The fire brigade was already in its operation. Firemen were safely bringing out people from inside the building-Those who were saved thanked the firemen profusely. By this time the fire had already reached the first floor of the three-storeyed building.  There was so much of commotion around. A woman came out running to the firemen saying, “Help me, sir! my child is still inside. “One of the firemen assured her of help and asked her, “Where is your child?” The lady pointed out amidst tears towards the second floor, everyone around looked up and to their shock, there was a small boy standing near the window on the second floor. He was crying helplessly pointing to us and saying “Mamma”. The firemen from inside the building started shouting “The staircase is burning; there is no way to reach the top floor!” Everyone got frightened and confused as to how could they save the child. One young man ran out fast, quickly brought the ladder from the fire engine and in a wink of the eye reached the second floor. He then removed the grilled window, took the child in his arms and came down. As he banded over the child, the people around cheered him. The child’s mother thanked him profusely.
