ASL Topic- The Secrets of Public Speech

The Secrets of Public Speech

(The following speech is perfect for 1 min. to 1.05 min)

I have often been asked to explain the secret of my being able to make long speeches without reference to a single note, and even to reproduce passages that I have thought over in my mind. Perhaps it is an incommunicable secret. The speaker himself hardly knows, though much depends upon the construction of the sentences. If the order is natural, logical and consistent, it is an aid to the memory. If the sentences are rhythmical, they imprint themselves upon the mind, the cadence helping the memory. Lord Salisbury used to say that his finest sentences as they occurred to him, while preparing his speeches, burnt themselves upon his mind. That, I believe, is true of all who have practiced the art of public speaking. After all, preparation is a great thing. It is indeed the one thing needed. It is constant preparation that fits you for the extempore debate, that gives you the command over words, the readiness of resource, in a word the metal equipment of the accomplished debater.

Qu. Do you think that anyone can be a good public speaker?
Ans.- According to me anyone can be a good public speaker successful speaker is not necessarily a great orator. The qualifications of the orator are moral rather than intellectual. It is the emotions that inspire the noblest thoughts and invest them with their colour and their distinctive character.

ASL Topic- The World of Technology

The World of Technology

(The following speech is perfect for 1 min. to 1.05 min)

Technology is very well defined as an advanced way to access a target creativity and technology are the best companions. Technology has the world into a global village. It is clear by the fact that the use of technology is growing at a very fast rate with each passing day. Many changes are taking place in the technological world.  This is only because of technology that carbon dioxide  is being transformed to fuel energy. The internet keeps connected more 750 million people worldwide. There is no doubt about it that technology sets means to communicate. It has made education easily accessible to many through online classes. Indian teachers are teaching the students of us and so are with the other countries. We are familiar with the educational system of the whole world with the help of technology. Presently technology has done a lot to satisfy our needs and meet all expectations. At the same time I would like to say that every coin has two faces so has the technology. But we should be wise enough to use it properly.

Qu. – How can you say that technology has more benefits and less harms?
Ans.-  Everything in this world from the smallest to the biggest has a method of use. We should be wise enough to use it properly. For example a needle can be used to sew clothes as well as to prick and tease someone. It is the decision of the user how to use it. So is the technology, created for right purpose but can be used in both ways.

ASL Topic- My Dream is India

My Dream is India

(The following speech is perfect for 1 min. to 1.05 min)

India is made of diverse traditions. It is fusion of different regions, different religions and many cultures. Our strength is in unity. But sadly people do not think about our nation. They only fight with one another. For some people their faith is their religion above the nation. This is worrisome. Think of a united India, where people think about their nation and will work towards the common goal development of nation. Cleanliness is something, which is considered as godliness. Indians do not worship this god. Our dirty cities, rivers narrate a sorry story. I dream of a neat and clean India. Two things which are omnipresent in India are corruption and beggary. A net of corruption is found in the public sector and in the private sector. Beggary is found in every nook and corner. Some poor people are lazy and do not work. This does not means that India is a poor country. I dream of an India where our country is free of corruption and beggary. About 9 percent of the people are unemployed. I dream of an India when I will be proud to say “MERA BHARAT MAHAN” where India would be an example of peace, calmness, prosperity, progress and co-existence to the whole world.

Qu. According to you what should be the additional qualities in India?
Ans.- I dream of India where every Indian is having an opportunity to do work. I dream of an India where good traditions would be patronised. In India of my dream, her culture heritage and excellence be the most cherished treasures.

ASL Topic- Afforestation and its Impacts

AFFORESTATION AND ITS IMPORTANCE

(The following speech is perfect for 1 min. to 1.05 min)

“A priceless gift of nature is in form of forests.” A Chinese proverb rightly says- “If you want to plan  for ten years, plant trees.” The above quotations shed enough light on afforestation and its importance. Humans have almost destroyed the nature for their sake. If there are no trees, there would be no life for humans. Trees provide wood for several means and are a priceless gift of nature which is even more costly than any piece of gold or any diamond with thousands of cuts. Our life is not possible without trees and we can still save our earth by planting more and more trees. Trees absorb carbon-di-oxide and give us oxygen which we need for our living. They prevent floods and help in rainfall. They render the climate and prevent the deserts from spreading further. Fodder is also obtained from the forests. Bark, rubber, gum and dyes are the raw materials supplied by them. Paper comes from the bamboo and sandal wood also comes from forests. Thus, Indian history depends on forests to some extent.  “Forests are a national asset.” Therefore it is a duty of the government and the people to protect them instead of destroying them as we have been doing for long.

Qu. What are the purposes of the people to cut trees?
Ans.- First of all I would day that people have become selfish and materialistic to cut down trees. They sell timber, make furniture, construct shopping malls, cinema halls, and use land for commercial purposes and this thinking dominates them.
